 We have some exciting news to share. Miss Portland, Anna Prosser, has been given the opportunity to represent the state of Oregon at the National Sweetheart Pageant, September 1, 2009. This pageant is held each year during Labor Day Weekend in Hoopeston Illinios for the first or second runner-up in the Miss America organization from each state throughout the country. The Sweetheart Pageant is another chance for Anna to prepare for her next year of competition and obtain more scholarship dollars.
The best of luck to our "Miss Oregon".

The Miss America Organization is one of the nation's leading achievement programs and the world's largest provider of scholarship assistance for young women. Last year, the Miss America Organization and its state and local organizations made available more than $45 million in cash and scholarship assistance. This assistance is not just for the handful of young women who become Miss America, but is available to the over 12, 000 young women who compete in the state and local competition as well.
